South Boston, or Southie (NOT to be confused with Boston’s South End neighborhood!!!) is famous for its festive St. Patrick’s Day Parade which commemorates the neighborhood’s Irish heritage as well as celebrating “Evacuation Day” – a decisive moment in the Revolutionary War when a display of cannons in Dorchester (near Southie) inspired the British to retreat from Boston. Today’s Southie is undergoing massive changes as the Seaport “Innovation District” is developed rapidly with encouragement from the city.

Description

For this Paper Place the shape of Boston’s South Boston neighborhood is cut from a piece of heavy white card stock paper with “SOUTH BOSTON” or “SOUTHIE” cut out below.

  • Choose from over 20 different background colors, as depicted in the swatches image, or a rainbow background made from scraps of 7 different colors.

  • The black frame is 8.75″ (about 22cm) square and 1.125″ (about 3cm) deep. It looks great as part of a gallery wall, and is small enough to fit in some of those weird corners and nooks, or on a bookshelf!

  • Each Paper Place is packaged carefully in recyclable materials, and packed for shipping in recyclable and/or reusable materials.
