I joined the @guildofamericanpapercutters a few weeks ago, and they sent me this really fun welcome package! Getting mail is pretty great, and I'm excited to be a part of this organization and get to know some more paper artists!
Do you ever think about why things are they way they are? Like, why are the rooms in your house/apartment/whatever the size and shape and order they are? And why is Boston such a funny shape? Why does this neighborhood belong to this town, and that neighborhood belong to that town?
One of the requests for this house portrait was to include the little American flag that was always displayed in the left-most window of the garage. I love finding ways to honor requests like that, to add details that are so totally specific to special memories, so I approximated my way to an American flag made entirely of white paper that measures less than 1/4" in width.
