This one-of-a-kind artwork is made up of a white layer of sturdy paper cut in the shape of the city of Somerville, with a collaged blue and teal background that includes a hand-drawn map of the Union Square neighborhood of Somerville and an ode to Marshmallow Fluff, the neighborhood’s most famous invention..

Carefully crafted starting with white paper and acrylic paint, the textured and painted papers are then cut and torn and layered to create the energy and movement of the collage, and embellished with up-cycled papers.

3D letters dance across the collaged map of Somerville, tipped this way and that by hand-assembled paper supports to create dynamic angles and movement.
