Red Line Train MBTA Paper Art

$80.00

The MBTA Red Line is the newest of Boston’s subway lines, with construction beginning in 1909. The route has changed and extended many times since then, but all extensions of the original route connecting Boston’s Park Street station to Cambridge’s Harvard University. The modern Red Line map connects Alewife Station on the northern edge of Cambridge, MA to both Braintree, MA and Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood (via Dorchester and Milton, MA)

This paper model of a No. 3 style Red Line train is created from over 50 individual pieces of paper, and carefully assembled by hand. The model is mounted to a red background created with acrylic paint using a mono-printing technique. The black frame is 8.75″ (about 22cm) square and 1.125″ (about 3cm) deep. It looks great as part of a gallery wall, and is small enough to fit in some of those weird corners and nooks, or on a bookshelf!
