Orange Line Train MBTA Paper Art

$80.00

The MBTA Orange Line was originally called the Main Line Elevated and built in 1901 to connect neighborhoods of Boston before being extended north toward Malden in the following decades. The orange line connects Malden, MA north of Boston, through Medford, MA, Somerville, MA, and into Downtown Boston then through the city south to the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. The Orange Line has recently been the focus of a major overhaul and renovation effort by the MBTA resulting in improved service and reliability, as well as a fleet of brand new trains built between 2018 and 2023.

This paper model of a Series 14 Orange Line train is created from nearly 100 individually cut pieces of paper, and carefully assembled by hand. The model is mounted to an orange background created with acrylic paint using a mono-printing technique. The black frame is 8.75″ (about 22cm) square and 1.125″ (about 3cm) deep. It looks great as part of a gallery wall, and is small enough to fit in some of those weird corners and nooks, or on a bookshelf!
