MBTA Bus Public Transit Paper Art

$80.00

The MBTA operates over 150 bus routes in the Greater Boston area. Since buses operate on existing roads, bus routes are the most “nimble” component of the MBTA system, able to adapt as the population in different areas grows at different rates. The MBTA maintains a fleet of over 1,000 buses.

This paper model of an XDE40 Model MBTA Bus is created from over 50 individual pieces of paper, and carefully assembled by hand. The model is mounted to a yellow background (the color of the distinctive stripe on the side of each bus) created with acrylic paint using a mono-printing technique. The black frame is 8.75″ (about 22cm) square and 1.125″ (about 3cm) deep. It looks great as part of a gallery wall, and is small enough to fit in some of those weird corners and nooks, or on a bookshelf!
